The segment registered a 10.3% year-on-year uptick in 2025, hitting sales of €1.5 billion.
Scandinavian brands are spearheading the trend: Swedish house Acne Studios has unveiled a collection of neutral-hued linen-cotton blended handbags, whereas Danish label Ganni has launched upcycled denim crossbody bags. Fast-fashion retailers are also embracing the shift; Zara’s Spring 2026 lineup contains over 30 styles of fabric bags made from recycled feedstock with pre-orders surpassing 100,000 units.
Germany and France rank as Europe’s top two markets for fashion textile bags, accounting for 45% of continental total sales. Analysts forecast a CAGR of 6.2% for the niche through 2030, underpinned by sustained mainstream demand for sustainability and minimalism.
